Quality Grooming Experience at Broadview Animal Hospital
Having your pet groomed might seem more like a luxury than a necessity, but pet grooming actually has many significant health benefits. While our pets can groom themselves to an extent in their own time, they are limited in what they can do. Regular grooming helps pets maintain a shiny, healthy coat, a healthy skin barrier, and prevents their nails from growing too long, which can negatively affect their posture.
Additional grooming benefits include:
--Detecting growths, skin conditions, ear infections, parasite infestations
--Your pet will be happier and more comfortable
--Better overall health
--Your pet looks and smells pleasant
--Reduced risk of ear, eye, and nail infections
--Your pet grows accustomed to being handled and socialized
Our Pet Grooming Services
--Anal gland cleaning
For the safety of our staff members and other patients, your pet must be up to date on their vaccinations and negative for any internal parasites. The required vaccines are:
- Feline Distemper
- Feline Leukemia
Signs Your Pet Needs to be Groomed
--Their coat is dull & greasy
--They give off an unpleasant odor
--Their coat is matted, gnarled & long
--Their nails are overgrown
--They are frequently scratching at themselves
Grooming Your Pet at Home
There are plenty of different shampoos you can use for your pet if you would prefer to bathe them at home. Never use shampoo made for people or dish soap, ask your veterinarian which shampoo would be best for your pet. We recommend regular brushings to keep your pet’s coat free of mats, which can impede their ability to keep cool in the summer and warm in winter.
